The Only Place

Tonight I ventured off to dinner at this 'hole in the wall' joint called The Only Place. As the story goes, this place way back when was the only place you could get beef around here, hence the clever name. Of course, times have changed with all the westerners that live in the city now, but The Only Place still remains a favorite for a steak or burger.

I had a filet, and thought it was definitely up to par with that I would have received in the states, and easily about a third of the price. This place kind of reminded me of a place I used to frequent in Auburn called Good Ol' Boys. It was certainly nice to 1)actually eat dinner (I've missed a couple nights these past two weeks working straight through) and 2)not eating at 12th Main at the residence.

When I got back to the residence, I enjoyed dessert that is delivered nightly and left in my room for me. I have not discussed this yet, but around 7pm each night, someone comes by and leaves a plate of 'goodies' (pictured below). Ordinarily, it is a dark or white chocolate truffle, a lady finger dipped in white or milk chocolate, and an oatmeal raisin cookie. Definitely a delightful 'Continental' meal all around tonight!
