I was fortunate enough to travel Business Class on my flights to Bangalore, and I can definitely say that it made the long journey much more bearable. While enjoying my reclining seat as well as the massage option, I kicked back to catch a few movies. Even though I'm a subscriber to Netflix, I'm a little behind on the latest movies. Over the course of two 9+ hour flights, I watched "I Love You, Man" (just as good the second time), "17 Again" (never watched Zac Efron before and probably won't again), "Monsters vs Aliens" (great cast for voiceovers, but pretty crappy movie IMO), and "Bride Wars" (Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway; otherwise I would have turned off immediately). Surprisingly, I did not even bust out the iPod for the entire trip. I did catch a few tunes on the “80s, 90s, and 2000s” radio station on the plane, though.
The meals, I must say, were quite good. On my flight from Atlanta to Paris, the main course...filet mignon. I always love a good filet, but I can certainly say it was even better knowing that I might not have the opportunity to eat beef again for the next three months. I mean, I guess ‘filet mignon’ is French, so what else should I have expected? Following the main course was some lemon sherbet for dessert. After another movie and a nice little nap, breakfast was served, which consisted of an omelette with sun-dried tomatoes and bacon along with a pastry.
My flight from Paris to Bangalore was quite a different story. The main course was a choice between two Indian dishes (both with curry, of course). It hadn't been that long since I had eaten breakfast, so I wasn't starving, and since I was a little uneasy about eating one of these dishes and then having another eight hours on the plane, I passed on the meal altogether. I think I made a wise choice.
This is for the Auburn folks out there. Not even a minute after I exited the gate into the Paris airport, I get a big "War Eagle". Another one came about 10 minutes later when I boarded a bus to ride to another terminal. Maybe I can get it on film next time and they’ll put me in a “War Eagle Moments” commercial on ESPN.
